Welcome, and thank you for visiting First Baptist Church online. We hope that our website highlights the variety of worship, fellowship and community ministry opportunities available. Our Mission
We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

From group Bible Study, to inner-city community ministry to international mission trips.
Worship Services

Worship Service begins at 11:00 AM on Sunday.
Communion is offered the 1st Sunday of every month.
Special Gatherings and Worship services will be announced in the church newsletter, in the church bulletin, and here on our website.
Our Beliefs
God: There is one God existing as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and our Lord, and that through belief in Him, and Him alone, we are assured of eternal salvation and fellowship with a loving God.
The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the divine helper.
Salvation: Eternal salvation is obtained by grace (God's loving favor) through God’s Son, Jesus the Christ and through Him alone.
Authority of Scripture: The Bible is God’s Holy Word, without error in the original documents.
Worship: We are created by God to worship Him, and that glorifying God is the ultimate reason for our existence.
Ordinances: We partake of two ordinances exemplifying obedience to our Lord’s commands: Believers’ Baptism and The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion.
Family/Fellowship/Community: The family is God’s foundational institution for human society.
Church Governance: First Baptist Church, Reading, PA, affirms the historic Baptist principle of Congregational Autonomy.
